How about Norton SafeWeb, BitDefender Trafficlight, and I believe McAfee has one also. I'm not sure if either of them is very good.

Thanks for that, I'm starting to think i won't find something like it because of the way its structured, you have people at the controls. But if the group takes a personal dislike to a site they may brand it as iffy, I've seen that happen in the past, then after paying a visit to the forum they reversed their decision. I'll have to check out those applications you mentioned.. :)

    Thanks..

Under Windows.. should have mentioned that. Firm believer in a good host file been using Hostsman for a few years and Adblock Plus with custom filters Fan Boy and Easy List. I notice now that "Trust My Web" was updated in 2011 which doesn't do much for that little green circles reputation.. :gack:

WOT is Reputation based, which, to me stinks, - (no offense intended) - that's just me.

Been using URL Void for a good while with good results. • No plug intended or implied • It is also Web-based and
not a Browser extension that requires maintenance.

I don't think there's any app similar to WOT.
SiteAdvisor, LinkScanner, etc. they all work in different ways.

As to whoever says WOT is not reliable, I say try it for yourself.
    You won't go back...

If you mean as the saying goes "power corrupts but absolute power corrupts absolutely" then i agree which is why i set out on this endeavor. There is always that chance for the club.. cliche.. members.. what have you.. to abuse that power.. authority.. millions of viewers click on links every minute of every day to see which sites are safe which ones are iffy and which sites are rat infested. :argh:

i use WOT from within NoScript to decide if i should blacklist a site permanently in NS for privacy trackers.

that is the only thing i use it for but it's pretty convenient for that purpose.

Please do not enhance what others have posted :ouch: This would be called Post Hijacking.
All Browser plug-ins require maintenance when said Browser aka Mozilla upgrades.

    Huh?
But we're talking about WOT, are we not?
What maintenance does WOT require, I am asking?
A new version upgrade every once in a while?
Manually inserting a desired url into URL Void each time you want results seems more labor-intensive than an occasional browser extension upgrade. ;)
Have you tried TrafficLight? (You're right, though, it isn't like WOT.)
