Reboot into safe mode by following instructions here: http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2001052409420406
then as some of the files or folders you need to delete may be hidden do this:
Open Windows Explorer & Go to Tools > Folder Options. Click on the View tab and make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is checked. Also uncheck "Hide protected operating system files" and untick "hide extensions for known file types" . Now click "Apply to all folders"
    Click "Apply" then "OK"

    and Delete these folders
    C:\PROGRAm files \MOVEGR~1\ <<< the folder containing ERRORONE.exe

    then
    Reboot normally &

first download http://members.shaw.ca/techcd/VB_Projects/HostsFileReader.zip unzip it and then click on search for hosts
when any hosts file is found, it will be listed in the bottom window, click on it and press the reset default button.
that will replace any bad entries with the standard windows entries
NOTE: if you use a customized hosts file to block certain sites then this will overwrite all those entries as well and you will need to re enter them

Download and unzip or install these programs/applications if you haven't already got them. If you have them, then make sure they are updated and configured as described

    Spybot - Search & Destroy from http://security.kolla.de
    AdAware 6 from http://www.lavasoft.de/support/download

    Run Sybot S&D

After installing, first press Online, press search for updates, then tick the updates it finds, then press download updates. Beside the download button is a little down pointed arrow, select one of the servers listed. If it doesn't work or you get an error message then try a different server

Next, close all Internet Explorer and OE windows, press 'Check for Problems', and have SpyBot remove all it finds that is marked in RED.

    then reboot &

    Run ADAWARE

Before you scan with AdAware, check for updates of the reference file by using the "webupdate".
the current ref file should read at least 01R302 03.05.2004 or a higher number/later date

    Then ........

Make sure the following settings are made and on -------"ON=GREEN"
From main window :Click "Start" then " Activate in-depth scan"

    then......

click "Use custom scanning options>Customize" and have these options on: "Scan within archives" ,"Scan active processes","Scan registry", "Deep scan registry" ,"Scan my IE Favorites for banned URL" and "Scan my host-files"

    then.........

go to settings(the gear on top of AdAware)>Tweak>Scanning engine and tick "Unload recognized processes during scanning" ...........then........"Cleaning engine" and "Let windows remove files in use at next reboot"

then...... click "proceed" to save your settings.

Now to scan it´s just to click the "Scan" button.

When scan is finished, mark everything for removal and get rid of it. (Right-click the window and choose"select all" from the drop down menu) then press next and then say yes to the prompt, do you want to remove all these entries.

    reboot again

then post a new hijackthis log to check what is left

Well I did every thing you typed, it was easier then I thaught it would be. Here is the second "hijack this" list...............also when i'm on the net like right now a screen will pop up almost like something is tring to load on my desktop,on the taskbar I can see microsoft loading...it happens real quik. It will come up and disapper fast. I think it could be popups, but do popups come up on the desktop without being on the internet? Maybe a program loading, a program I didn't download on to my computer. This is a list of program I have, can you "if you have time" tell me which are a waste to have on my computer.........PeerGuardian..Registry Mechanic..The Cleaner..Hijack this..Document Scrubber..these are from The Cleaner, TCMonitor keeps track of registry keys, files and folders and alerts to any changes and TCActive moniters live processes for Trojans/Worms and other malicious programs and kills them before they do damage..Spy Sweeper..Super Utilities..Tuneup utilities..Ad-Watch3.0-Ad-aware 6.0..Spyblaster..MRUblaster..Hosts file reader..ID-Blastor Plus and my internet security antivirus is PC-cillin,Trend Micro. The popup screens are popping up more and more within the last 10mins. But they aren't staying on the desktop very long something is cutting them short of loading complety. anyways her is the list

    do this first
go here, click Scan for updates in the main frame, and download and install all CRITICAL updates recommended.

    then try this please

Please download the KillBox from here:

    http://download.broadbandmedic.com/VbStuff/KillBox.zip

UnZip it to it's own folder not to the Desktop or a Temp folder. Click on The KillBox.exe and it will open. Now click find then find vx2 better internet, then on the little pop up window that says killbox file list, will open if it finds any files then press file/create log and a pop up says do you want to create a log in notepad, say yes and then save as usual in notepad and copy & paste the resulting list here

Re: after doing a fix from hijack my startup was slow

nothing we removed should have caused any behaviour like that at all

the flashing up little windows is what bothers me, because that sounds like something trying to load, but nothing i s showing in the log

dom you get any error messages at boot time saying something about looking for files or something similar

    please do this

open hijackthis/config/misc tools/tick both boxes about empty and minor sections, press generate start up list and post a complete start up list

Re: after doing a fix from hijack my startup was slow

And have you done the updates because the first couple of times you reboot after updating it will be very slow as windows has to reconfigure the system to account for all the updates and as you didn't have SP1 I would have thought you would have needed a lot of updates

Re: problem updating win xp professionl

After you told me to update windows Iwwent to micro. downloaded the "sp1a " updated WENT TO INSTALL IT with the wizard at the end of the install it said unable to finish because the copy of windows might be pirited or invalid it said something of that sort. I got the stupid copy of windows from a wal-mart store, would you be able to tell me were I can find the updates for my windows, instead of going to microsoft, I just don't have time to call them up and wait for hours to talk to someone about my windows copy, I called before and waited about 2 hours before I lost my patience and hung the phone up. Is thier a web site to go to.

Re: problem updating win xp professionl

if it is an invalid or illegal copy of windows then you are not going to be able to update

you should contact M$ via this website if you paid for it, but the reseller gave you an illegal copy
    http://www.microsoft.com/piracy/

I don't know how it works inthe US, but in the UK I have heard of many cases where M$ will give you a legal licence key if you can show that you bought from an authorised reseller but were given a pirate key previously and you diddn'y know qabout that

    reformated harddrive "dvk01"

I reformated my harddrive last nite and reinstalled a different copy of windows xp. I went to the person who sold the bad windows to me and told him "that certian people will find out your selling piriated copys of win.xp. Anyways this is my 3rd time tring to post this thread, everytime I started typing my computer will shutdown by its self. I installed the new copy of winxp and used my key# on my harddrive, and went to update and it worked with no problems. I had to install about 60 different updates. The computer is running great so far, no popups, no shut downs but I'm getting alot of acttivity on my internet lite on my modem. well here is a hijack this list to be on the safe side:

Check this, then choose fix selected. Reboot, and then please email that file to submit@diamondcs.com.au and your antivirus vendor. Then delete it :)

    Hi Johnnycoolwhip,

Theres a few more entries to add to Gavin's post.

After you have zipped up a copy of the wuamgrd.exe file and mailed it to Gavin, then through the TaskManager find the file and end task on it.

Then with ALL windows closed (except HijackThis) place a check beside the following and click *Fix checked:

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/cus.../search/ie.html
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/cus...//www.yahoo.com
    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/cus.../search/ie.html
    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/cus...//www.yahoo.com
    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/cus...//www.yahoo.com
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/cus...//www.yahoo.com

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Microsoft Update] wuamgrd.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [Microsoft Update] wuamgrd.exe

Next, Click Here, for instructions on how to enable hidden files and folders visible.

Then reboot into Safe Mode by tapping the F8 key after the BIOS has loaded, and find and delete the wuamgrd.exe file in the Windows\System32 folder.

Reboot your computer normally and do a FULL system scan with one of these free on-line scanners: Free Services

Then post a new HijackThis log here to be checked.

    Regards,

    snap

    Hi johnnycoolwhip,

Before you start please move hijackthis.exe to a folder of it´s own. The program creates backups in the folder it is in. These will end up on your desktop.

Check the following items in HijackThis.
Close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

    R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - _{CFBFAE00-17A6-11D0-99CB-00C04FD64497} - (no file)
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {000020DD-C72E-4113-AF77-DD56626C6C42} - C:\WINDOWS\twaintec.dll

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {F7F808F0-6F7D-442C-93E3-4A4827C2E4C8} - C:\WINDOWS\nem216.dll

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [IST Service] C:\Program Files\ISTsvc\istsvc.exe

Then reboot into safe mode and delete:
    C:\Program Files\ISTsvc <= entire folder

    And please read: https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=27971

    Regards,

    Pieter

first copy these files and zip them and send to submit@thespykiller.co.uk with a short note referring to this thread
C:\Program Files\System32 <<< the complete folder please, it looks like a new one we need to examine

Run hijackthis, tick these entries listed below and ONLY these entries, double check to make sure, then make sure all browser & email windows are closed and press fix checked

    C:\Program Files\QuickSearch
    C:\Program Files\MyWay
    C:\Program Files\WebSavingsfromEbates
C:\Program Files\System32\ <<<<< be very careful here and make sure you don't delete anything in C:\windows
    then
    Reboot normally &

    Run ADAWARE

Before you scan with AdAware, check for updates of the reference file by using the "webupdate".
the current ref file should read at least 01R303 08.05.2004 or a higher number/later date
