Thanks. The Giveaway is working as promised. "Licensed to ..." :thumb: (licensed for 1 year)
If someone else is interested (and is using Process Lasso v8), there are still 11 hours for the Giveaway of CPUBalance.

There is a newer Process Lasso v9-beta available, v9.0.0.205 (03/14/17) but the Change Log was not updated yet.

I saw that. I am currently on v8, but would like to try v9 beta with the CPUBalance tech / UI, rather than run two separate programs . How 'stable' is v9 beta?

Edit: I see the GOTD is 1.0.0 but the Bitsum latest version is 1.0.0.34 ...

You'll get the latest v1.0.0.34 if you download the GOTD-offer. But the offer is now expired.
It is a beta, but It seems to be stable to me. I think i'll keep v9 installed on my system for further testing.

This isn't related to v9 beta but I thought this is probably as good a place as any to ask.

On my low-end machine I see PL v8 throttling Firefox and Cyberfox quite often but it doesn't seem to restrict Chrome. Looking at the graph it shows that when Chrome opens and runs the system responsiveness drops noticeably. Does PL not work with Chrome, or am I missing something?

    Thanks.

If you open the updates options and check the box for options
    1> Include Beta versions
2> Automatically keep lasso up to date
It will install the current Open beta for you.
Version 9x is pretty stable, Jeremy is good at what he does.

It's because Chrome is excluded, by default, to be restrained by ProBalance. Jeremy once stated that Chrome's processes work similarly with ProBalance, so there should be no need for PL to disrupt what is intended. Chrome processes' default behavior is to lower process priority whenever they are "idle". :)

I think in v9, this is changed, as it's stated in the changelog that Chrome's exclusion is removed. :)

Yep! I installed v9 beta on this machine and Chrome has been brought under control. Very cool!

V9 seems stable enough so far too.

If anyone is in contact with @bitsum I've found a small bug with the beta.

In View > System tray icon > I have enabled Show system responsiveness, now I can't deselect it and the tray icon is stuck on bright green like while it is under load.

    Thanks.

Edit Reset all configurations to default seems to of fixed that.

I wonder what made Jeremy change his mind.
    @bitsum Why?

Err, that might of been a bit of overkill. I think all I needed to do was View > System tray icon > Show total processor utilisation. D'oh!

In v8 i have seen a big [X] in the Tab: "Rules" for Chrome.
With v9beta it is removed and it has Chrome under control now :)
It is also mentioned in the changelog:

I tried to install the latest beta 9 32 bit version in Shadow Defender in xp sp3 just out of curiosity, to see if it would run and Avast came up with Win32:MalOb-CA [Cryp]

it's probably a false positive but I thought I would mention it.

No I didn't think of it at the time. I just noted it and rebooted.

I just uploaded the install file and none, even Avast made a peep.

ZAL detected PL's beta component, InstallHelper, as a "Malware" two or three days ago with its Realtime Protection. I already reported it to Zemana as FP, and they removed the detection after recognition. :)
