I am running Netveda and PG (paid for) and find that Netveda lets banned apps through. I keep IE as a banned app and although Netveda asks for permission. when I deny IE it still allows a connection to be made. In PG I have ticked all the options for the NV suite.

    Has anyone else experienced this.

I know of course that I can control IE with PG.

  2. I am running the same set with no problems....check on your
Security....Internet Security page ....that you have all items checked
    except .....activate component learning.

That is how I have it as shown in the top window here
    http://www.diamondcs.com.au/processguard/index.php?page=screenshot

I also forgot to mention that it keeps freezing and have to do a reset to get it going again.

I don't know which to blame for this but I don't have any confidence that N/V is stopping the apps I have set to stop.

  4. I meant NetVeda Security settings.

    Sorry misread youi.

Did have that checked but unchecking makes no difference, even rebooted to be certain. N/V clearly asks, I deny always and IE is allowed to connect.

I am also using Avast but it was not an issue with PG free.

  6. I've never had any probs with NetVeda so kinda hard for me to answer.

I would try an uninstall - install with PG in learning mode.

Or you may first want to try...

    Groups...Groups type...hit drop down arrow....application...new.
group name.....name it Internet explorer....location...hit the 3 dots
    find ie.....blue down arrow....save.

You can either block ie one of two ways.
Default user....application controll...and put a check on internet explorer
    apply

    or you can do
    Security...Advanced internet security..
    Direction ...out
    rule...........deny
    service......all
    application..Internet explorer
    local and remote network...all
    ADD
    APPLY

But you really shouldnt have to do that....I would try the fresh install first
and maybe before that....do a good registry clean if you've tried out a lot
    of FWs lately

I do clean the registry each time, so that should not be the problem and I did install PG after NV.

    I will try a re-install.

I have re-installed it again and so far seems ok but have just suffered another freeze up. It is actually very very slow that seems like a freeze. Seems to happen a little after I have got PG to deny IE.

Have to see how it goes now.

Perhaps a silly question, but have you given netveda permission to terminate programs in the 'protection' tab of PG ?

Yes I have, but to be honest I am not sure of these settings. On trusted apps I am ticking all the boxes.
