I have been trying to use Windows 7 with Adobe Premiere CC 2014 in VirtualBox, but the performance is not that good even with 3GB of RAM and 128MB of Video Display. I was hoping to run my video editor from the VM.

Do you have your Virtual machine set on SSD or HDD?

Adobe CC software really stretches resources. I have a VM with Photoshop CC and it only works well on a host machine with a good discrete GPU. With integrated graphics, it doesn't perform well at all not matter how much system and display memory you give it.
