I'm using Macrium Reflect 8.x) I have a problem that I can't find a solution to. Hardware that accepts the maximum resolution of 640x480 px when recovering and using the partition recovery panel, the control panel at the bottom is not visible (attached) and therefore you cannot start the recovery procedure at the bottom The solution is not included in the application manual. What solution can you suggest to me. Thank you
@mastervoice, welcome to Wilders! The issue you described is not a Macrium issue but an incompatibility between your system and the WinPE version that you used to create Macrium Rescue media. The bootable media is unable to get the optimal resolution for your system during boot. Try downgrading your WinPE version. Build with WinPE 5.0 based media and see if that resolves your issue. If that does not work, you may have to experiment with a couple of different WinPE versions, but I am confident that WinPE 5.0 based Rescue media will fix your issue. Edit: Or you can use the Macrium recommended WinPE media, but during build, make sure to check the option "Enable legacy EFI screen resolution support" found under "Advanced -> Options" tab of the Macrium Rescue Builder.
I have a similar issue on one machine here too. I found clicking the Enter key works for me when I can't see the OK button.
I didn't know about that feature. Sure enough, the resolution does look better with that option enabled. Thanks for the heads-up. I had to use a new 16GB UFD though, as my 8GB UFD wasn't large enough.
Thanks for the reply. if the video card does not support other resolutions, the same problem will arise with the version. WinPE relates to the machine's video card. I wonder is there a string to use on the command line or a keyboard command? Thank you
Glad to help! I have often found that if there are issues with Macrium Rescue Media, changing the version/options of the Rescue Environment helps resolve most of them.
It should fix the issue by picking the optimal resolution to display Macrium. Does Macrium display fine when installed inside the OS? I do not believe there is a command line option available during the rescue media boot phase. What are the PC specs? Which OS are you using? And which WinPE version of the rescue media does Macrium automatically select for you when you are about to create the rescue media?
Thanks for the reply and the help. I am restoring the image of a twin of the first NDIS 163 a compact mediacenter 8 GB RAM dual core duo 9400 processor Not a very recent machine but excellent for specific use. the system reserves 128mb of ram in the bios but the maximum resolution is 640x480 with WinPE Macrium There is no note in the manual regarding the problem, which is why I was asking for a string to apply on the command line
I had no idea it was such a legacy system. My previous advice will not work in this case. The graphics chipset, Intel GM45 is an XP era chipset, so the recommended WinPE version for this system is the oldest version that Macrium supports, WinPE 3.1, based on Windows 7 kernel. You can try WinPE 3.1, if that does not work then the best solution is to contact Macrium support. They may have experience with an older system such as the one you have.
thanks for the quick response, IntelĀ® GM 4500MHD Graphic Engine during startup, WinPe searches the startup directory for wpeinit which it does not find in the system directory of the system32 disk Even launching wpeinit.exe doesn't start Macrium assistance, already contacted, does not provide support for the free versions nor for the previous ones
@mastervoice, Are you building the Macrium Rescue Media on the same PC? If you build it on the same PC or a PC with same specs, Macrium Rescue media builder will add the missing third party drivers, not found in WinPE, to the Rescue Environment, by directly coping it from your system. This way they will be available during boot. I have never used or inserted scripts into Macrium WinPE during boot, so I will not be able to offer help in that regards. But others here may have more experience in this regards then me. I was able to find a thread on Macrium's forum about the Macrium rescue media, though it does not directly deal with your situation, but may offer some assistance. The linked post is from our member @jphughan. He has more experience with Macrium then me. Hopefully he will have something more to add on your issue if he is available and sees this post.
HI Raza0007 thank you for your thoughtful and important help. I will read the documents you indicated and I reserve the right to communicate with you See you soon
