Problem with Java Virtual Machine

Hi Guys!

Please need help to make a installation:

I have a bin file to install. I make it executable after download with "chmod +x", but when I execute it with "./name.bin" it begin the installation and return this error:

Assistente InstallShield

Initializing Assistente InstallShield...

Searching for Java(tm) Virtual Machine...
..............................The wizard cannot continue because of the following error: could not load wizard specified in /wizard.inf (104)

I googled it but not found anything that make me understand what i need do to resolve this. Anyone here know what i need do?

I have jre-6u20-linux-i586.bin installed from the java site.
I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid


EDIT: I downloaded a .jar version of the file and tried install with "java -jar name.jar" and same error.

In this line: "Selecione o seu sistema operacional:" you can choose between versions.

What is wizard.inf ? Sounds like Windows.

 

Well, i don't know why, but after install jdk-6u20-linux-i586.bin from here http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/widget/jdk6.jsp the little thing worked OK.

But what happened, this I don't know. At least if anyone encounter this problem, we already know now how fix.

You could also add the canonical partner repo. in Lucid add-apt-repository "deb http://archive.canonical.com/ lucid partner"
