    Hi,

I have windows XP (French) with SP2.

When I go into cmd.exe, than enter cd\windows\system32 and then try to re-register msxml3.dll (regsvr32 msxml3.dll) and msxml4.dll (regsvr32 msxml4.dll). I received the following error message for both of these dll :

DLL Register in msxml3(or 4).dll Failed.
The return code is : 0x80070005

Does someone know what to do to resolved that issueo_O

    Thanks,
    Atomas31

dont know what the code means specifically
but the first thing that comes to mind is NTFS permissions and gpedit or 3rd party security settings
(HIPS or other behavior monitoring software dll injection\registration prevention)

start with turning off your security
checking your permissions \ ACL (Access Control Lists)
and check the event logs (eventvwr.msc) system security application

gpedit would come into it if you were in a domain and lacked full permissions

KB884573 - “0x80070005: Access is denied" error message when you create a scheduled task in Windows XP Service Pack 2
which helpfully enough is a knowledge base article that isnt available
and isnt cached in the wayback machine

DLL Register in msxml3(or 4).dll Failed
