    I'm having a problem.
I was using ESS trial, then I decided to use a registrated version.
I downloaded it from ESET website (2 times) and tried to install.

I've tried to install and reinstall it for several times.
I ways get the same message saying that the firewall failed.
ESS says to reinstall it, I tried to do it about 8 times, nothing happens.

If someone knows how to help me, I would apreciate.

    Here are the messages:

    1. Download fresh new version of the desired ESET product
    http://www.eset.com/download
Make sure that you choose the correct version.

    2. Uninstall your current version from Control Panel
    3. Reboot the computer when prompted
    4. Delete manually these folders:

    - C:\Program files\ESET
    - C:\Documents and Settings\All users\Application data\Eset
    - C:\Documents and Settings\~username~\Local Settings\Application data\Eset

Make sure you delete the subkeys in the registry called "ESET" , HKey_Local Machine -> Software -> ESET and HKey_Current user -> Software -> ESET

    5. Reinstall your ESET software using the file you downloaded in step1 . Use typical install.

After you do the above recommendations, go to the task manager and ensure ekrn.exe is not still running, if it is you'll need to go to componant services and disable eset services then reboot.

If that don't work I can't help

Not real sure... the instructions posted for ESS removal have worked every time for me and I have bounced between AVG8 and ESS several times trying to get AVG8 working ( I use the same instructions as a model to remove AVG).

One thing to consider before your next install is running a registry cleaner like Crap Cleaner (free) .. it has neve let me down....I also run Registry Mechanic (not free) but ensure you have it set to take a Restore Point.....that goes for any registry cleaner....

The installer also has a repair feature. Have you used that?

    I've tried everything.
since the first time i uninstalled it, i used CCleane.

I don't know what to do, i have done all the steps you guys said.

I think I will install another suite or format my HD.

    :doubt:

If someone knows another thing I can try, please tell me!

ps. I'm sorry if I wrote something wrong. I'm Brazilian and I'm taking English classes...
