I have spent the last two days trying to get my PC and Laptop to see each other. Have done many searches on the Web and can only get as far as getting the Laptop to access the PC.

    Laptop is Lenovo R500
PC home build ASUS Maximus VIII
Both running Win 8.1 Pro. Similar configurations.
    Both on same Workgroup
    Both on Private network.
    Both on same named network.
    NetBIOS enabled.
Have not bothered setting up a Homegroup
    Connecting over WiFi

I can sometimes get the PC to see the shares but cannot get permission to access them. I have looked at the help in the pop up but cannot find anything of help there.

If I plug a cable in then I can see the LT shares but not access. When I remove the cable I can still see the shares but not access them.

    Would appreciate help resolving this.

I have now resolved the issue but not quite sure how but found some alternative options. Have also managed to map the drives on the Laptop and that seems to have woken up the network connection.

Working at the moment so touch wood :)
