I really messed up what should have been a simple job. On our notebook, there were 2 partitions that it came with. The boot one was NTFS and it had the small second fat32 for the XP recovery files. I don't use XP recovery any more and shut it off.

I wanted to convert the fat32 partition that came with it to NTFS and merge it with the other partition. Then I wanted to split the now whole NTFS partition into 2 to make a new backup drive partition.

The combine/convert went fine. Then when I went to split it back up, I ended up with the primary boot partition being set as C: but is was my small, empty partition. All my operating system is now on D: still showing as NTFS. I can boot to the disk version of Disk Director, but it doesn't seem to be able to help. I can still see all our files on the now D: drive but I can't do anything with it.

I also tried to combine the two partitions, but it came back with an error.

    Help Please!
