Prevx again destroys all of my Rollback Rx snapshots.
This issue has been reported as fixed in numerous threadso_O

What really crawls under my skin, is the fact that I am absolutely helpless at stopping it from happening:mad:

I complete a scan using Prevx, it finds low risk add-ware, I check that there are no FP's, there are not any. Prevx downloads the removal intructions, so far so good. But then at the end of the scan, a splash screen appears warning me that it has detected an MBR also a BSOD would take place and the MBR removed at reboot:eek:

NO NO NO not again. I had already given the so called MBR permission to run and instructed Prevx as such to allways ignore this MBR when it was detected during installation.

Anyway here is the splash screen with only one option that is: "OK"(yes destroy many hours of work):thumbd:
I thought I would try uninstalling Prevx this did not work, then I hoped that after closing the warning splash screen, I may then be able to uninstall the program in which case prevx would have warned me that there are still infections on my pc. In which case I could have restord the snapshot.
So I press the X, the splash srcreen doesn't close, oh no, it behaves like malware(NO meens OK and close means OK) and proceeds to shut-down my system:thumbd: :thumbd: A sugestion, do away with the X (I had hoped it would close the splash screen) and replace it with "OK"

Now that I have vented some steam, I have a suggestion.

GIVE ME BACK SOME CONTROL OVER MY SYSTEM:mad:

surely, I should have the option not to have something removed from my system?

This should be addressed, as during the normal scan and clean-up there is no mention of an MBR, this appears when it has finished scanning and just about to reboot.

And yes Rollback Rx may well use rootkit technology, but please LET ME MAKE THAT DECISION on whether or not I want it removed.

You have a great product, with some of the best support I have ever encountered.

I hope you fix this issue or at least give me back my right to make decisions over what is removed from my system:D

I'm still undecided whether or not uninstall Prevx, as I don't want this happening again.

I hope I'm not asking for to mucho_O

    Thank you

Could you please let me know what version of Prevx you are using? The MBR issue is fixed within the v3.0.4.x builds but we have not yet released it live.

    I'm currently using build 3.0.1.65

It detected the MBR on installation and was set to always trust...
Why did it still delete the MBR entry, although I marked it as trusted?

Is it possible to change the splash screen to allow the user to make a decision on whether to delete or allow an MBR entry?
As stated, this is not possible at the moment.

can this be fixed or is it considered as something that requires no change?

As always, thanks for your quick reply.

This is the known issue which we've fixed in the new RC builds. If you would want to verify that it is fixed, you may want to try running a cleanup from the build from: http://info.prevx.com/download.asp?grab=edgebeta

Please let me know what your experience is like, and we are sorry for the inconvenience - I recommend using this new RC version if you are using Rollback Rx just to ensure everything is cleaned properly.
