Hi, I was looking at Prevx SafeOnline and it looks good but is it compatible with Kaspersky Internet Security or is this pairing a nightmare waiting to happen? Thanks.

I use Prevx SafeOnline with KIS 2009, and it works fine.

You have to install KIS first (after removing any other security software). That just seems to be Kaspersky trying to ensure that there are no problems with drivers or whatever during their installation. But Prevx installs fine after KIS - either disable KIS Application Filtering during the install or allow all the Prevx drivers to install in response to the KIS warning messages.

To reduce problems of compatibility, it's best to add Prevx to the "Trusted Applications" list in KIS and to put Prevx self-protection on medium.

KIS2010 includes its own sandbox, but I haven't tried that as I don't need it. Also, the KIS2010 UI is pretty naff compared to 2009.
