I didn't save the minidump, but I did write down the full STOP 0X8E, in case that makes a difference...
    STOP: 0X0000008E (0XC0000005, 0X804EF196, 0XAFF77BB1, 0X00000000)

I think not, no. If the malware is able to bypass the prevx "tunnel" it should be possible to bypass keyscrambler too. So i think it is kind of unnecessary overkill.

There seems to be some conflict with the new Beta and sites that use Java animation. Not sure if it has to do with the sites themselves or what, they are Government sites but not https sites. The Java player will load but I get no animation...o_O

Question: Will PrevX 3.5 provide Iron (Browser) support?

Trying out the Prevx Beta with a LUA account with Surun and noticed something a little strange. When you use the browser normally the Surun tray icon stays it's usual green smiley face and if you hover your mouse over it the standard user popup comes up. However, if you go to a secured site where the Browser Protection kicks in the Surun tray icon goes to blue with a question mark and will stay that way until you close and reopen the browser. Does this with Firefox or IE8. Seems to be along the same line as Defensewall loosing the browser banner when doing things in the same manner.

We will be making the configuration easier to work with but we've designed it to intentionally block clipboard readers - you will most likely need to temporarily disable the Prevx protection temporarily to allow it to read the data.

The memory usage should only be marginally higher (less than 1MB higher, which is just because of the additional graphics in the new version) but let me know if you are seeing anything different :)

I suspect this is because of the process isolation - I'm not sure how much we will be able to modify with this/Defensewall's messaging without reducing security as we need to be "all or nothing" in many cases to block malware from accessing the browser :doubt:

No problem - we received a minidump from another user here which let us locate/fix the problem.

We will have the next version ready early next week which will prevent this issue from happening in the future :)

    Thank you for the details!

That's cool. I was just making sure that it wasn't jumping up some part of the browser to "Administrator" level unintentionally. Defensewall's messaging isn't a big issue for me. It still indicates properly in the icon itself and I have tested and Defensewall still works as always.

Otherwise the Beta is working good. No issues with it in LUA on XP. :thumb:

I like the way you handle your business. I'm patient, and I look forward to the next version. :)

That why we all love Prevx (and Joe)...true professionals who know who is important in the overall equation...but also because it is a cracking product. :thumb:

PS. Joe, still nothing to report in terms of clashes with KIS 2010 current release version (9.0.0.463 b) although I know that there is a CF2 release due at some point soon...but not sure exactly when. :D

Also, I have now ditched AVG LinkScanner as I do not think that I need it anymore with Web Secure Browser functionality enabled.

    Hi folks,
So far using 3.0.1.65 but carefully watching Prevx beta development. New features seem very interesting and will definitely increase the Prevxs power and efficiency :thumb:. However my policy is to keep out of betas, RCs etc. Therefore I would kindly ask when the new upgrade featuring RCs enhancements is foreseen. I know that it can happen when all issues with RCs are solved and thus ready for public use but would really appreciate ETA. BTW, does web security work in Opera 10? I use IE8 infrequently.
    Thanks,
    pegas

P.S. Should your reply be of kind "we will launch it once finished", please rather dont revert, as I am really fed up from such replies on other forums :D.

Currently the .183 version doesn't work properly with Opera v10 but our new test version has corrected this and we should have the next RC out by Monday or Tuesday. The official release is still approx. 1-2 weeks away but it largely depends on testing: many of the large AV vendors have made very significant changes to their beta products so we've had to double our testing by going through all of their 2010/2009/2008 versions on IE/FF/Chrome/Opera on 98/NT4/2000/XP/2003/Vista/2008/7... there are literally thousands of combinations so we're trying to get as many as physically possible :)

Timelines are always a bit dynamic but we try and give users something accurate to go on rather than string them along indefinitely :)
