I have Prevx licenses on two different machines. This morning I got a popup on my home machine, saying the license had expired along with the protection, instead of the usual "you are protected". So I decided to go ahead and renew, which all went smoothly. Until I noticed that the renewal gave me 570 days to go.
Went to My Prevx, and discovered that the actual situation is that the license for machine 2 will expire in 3 days. So for some reason Prevx is unable to send the messages to the correct machine. The key was not expired, and was blocked for the wrong machine. I will just let the other license expire to the free version at this point. You only get to fool me once.

o_O I would hope that they could just switch the licensing to the proper machine and thus correct the problem.o_O

I guess if I do decide to purchase multiple licenses then I need to watch this, I would think that it just a glitch in the system though?

I think the licenses are all individual (for home use). I could be mistaken though?

Probably would have paid more attention later in the day-it was early here in San Diego. ;) But I did get a "protection is expired" message on the wrong machine, which seems to be quite a glitch for those with multiple licenses. And this was before the wrong license was even expired. I will go check out the other machine later today, since I never got a notice of "expiration pending" at all on that one.

Yes, it is really the bootup splash screen in the lower right corner that got replaced and persisted.

ummm... the fact is that's its a bug in prevx where it pops up claiming license is expired regardless whether you have one day or 365 :p .Simply put your license again and all becomes well.I have had it twice.

I had got a popup before to the same machine saying my license would expire in 20 days, and probably should have checked then to make sure it was going to the right machine. The renewal path from the current popup took me to the current machine, not the one that is expiring. But from what you said, I should expect a "real" expired somewhere in about 3 days, but this time I will be watching for it. :)

    Hello :)
I'm not quite sure if MyPrevx would merge or concatenate the licenses but it should definitely not be returning data for the wrong PC. Could you try writing into our main customer support inbox to see if they can fix your issue? They are better versed with handling license problems like this and will have your customer details available.

    Thanks! :)

First I am going to check on the other machine and see what is happening there. Nothing popped up so far, but I can at least check on when it thinks the license is expiring. Licenses weren't really concatenated, just separate licenses bought at separate times managed in the same My Prevx account. To add to the story, I just got a call from Visa Fraud Department to verify that I had authorized your license seller to charge my card. Sounds like a marginally shady outfit, since Visa has never asked me about anyone before and I charge several K$ some months to the card, even across the border in Mexico. But I OK'd it. ;)

I would just leave them as is and when it's time for one to run out just let it and add another machine to your other license then you can have both on the same License key!

So, if I purchase a 4 user license then it is just a single license number? What if I do not activate all machines at once, does the expiration time only tick off of the activated machines or the entire license?

Yes to you first Question and the entire license unfortunately! :doubt: But I paid for 2 to begin with then added 2 more later on the same license so it was OK for me.

That is not good:thumbd: If it was a security suite then I would agree, but it is not, so it should be an unlimited site license if the entire time ticks off. Individual licenses for different machines otherwise!

I said this before! That I have 2 machines for myself and 2 for my Brother that does not live in my home as it was a gift from me to him, so you said "unlimited site license" then it could be abused so I don't think Prevx will go that route! But yes individual licenses would be best but you don't get the best price then, a 2 or 3 or 4 machine license and multiple years is the better price than one license per machine! So you got to do what you think is best for you and that goes for everyone! I have a 4 machine license and 4 years works out to be less than $20US per machine per year!

Well, the second machine correctly states that it expires in 4 days. So looks like the first expiration notice was just the bug mentioned above. Coincidental timing, I guess.

Yes, I know the site license has already been discussed and I do not want to beat it up, nor am I trying to do so. The thing is that it is a home user license (for home usage) and not a corporation license, therefore, the license could be limited to 5+ users or something similar, regardless of the fact that you might give one or two to a family member. You paid for it so why should you not be able to use it how you want? It is just a way for the company to make more money off of the consumer otherwise. I just do not like the fact that they are making it cheaper to by multiple licensing but not allowing me to activate them when I want and/or without losing time!

Just to add to this. Since it is cheaper to buy multiple licenses the problem may arise that you need 3 or 4 licenses now and a few weeks/months later you get a new computer and now need another license. I would now have to pay a higher price then if I would have purchased all of them at once and then been able to activate it later, right?

Yes that is understandable and I would like to see a limited site license, I personally think it will not happen! :doubt:

I am afraid that you are probably right! So I guess I need to stop complaining about it and either buy it the way it is or shut up!:isay:

I sent a note to Prevx Support referencing this thread and asking that the new license extension be transferred to the expiring computer. Will see what happens.
