    Hi,

I've been waiting for a transfer licence to WSA...but that's a different matter.

Just today, I noticed that my prevx icon disappeared from the err - bottom right hand corner of my screen (can't recall what that part of the bar is called).

    - I tried launching the program manually and that didn't work.

    - I looked in the task manager and couldn't see the application or the service.

    - I tried uninstalling it - the icon shows, but the uninstall won't even activate.

    - I tried clicking on another program to uninstall it, and there were no issues with other programmes.

    - I rebooted and went through the same process with the same results.

I haven't been doing anything unusual in the last day or two. I ran scans with MBAM, and I do have Avast real time shields active (but have had those active with Prevx for about 2 years). I think I had about 40 days licence left, but hadn't checked for a while.

    Any idea?

Thanks Triple - that worked. I guess I'll just have to buy WSA :)

Glad it's prevx tech. Last time I tried webroots spysweeper (quite some time back) I uninstalled it almost immediately.

Your very welcome! And yes I'm glad also that Webroot went the way of Prevx as IMHO the Full Cloud solution is the only way to keep up with the Extremely large influx of Malware that we see today! ;)

Hi Triple, thanks for the help...but... dear god, where do I start with the issues I've had...well, right from the start.

So I wanted to download WSA, and so I purchased a 3 year licence....and waited for some sort of download to activate. No, no download activation. Okay, so I then went and checked my email - no verification email, and no download link. Okay, I then went and applied for a trial version - and had to fill in my details for a trial of an item I had already bought. Then I downloaded the trial and entered the key I was given (this is not an obvious process for a newb because the site gives you a trial key). On the whole the purchase process was thoroughly silly.

I installed WSA, which was a very easy process (first time around)...until I tried playing an online game (Warhammer online)...at which time I got a blue screen of death. So I removed all other security software and still got the BSoD whenever I tried launching War.

The BSoD then occurred without launching anything...so I tried removing WSA.

When you try to uninstall WSA - you get a splash screen where you have to write what is written on the screen - fair enough, except that every time I tried this I would get a BSoD too quick to enter the letters. It was fine if I didn't try to uninstall, but every single time I went to uninstall BSoD.

Eventually I had to do the uninstall in Safe Mode (luckily for me, I know how to do this).

I decided to reinstall...the installation process did a scan, finished installing, and immediately said that my system was insecure and needed a scan (seriously?). I don't recall this happening first time around.

Anyway, I pretty much had the same issues all over again. I've been forced to uninstall WSA and leave it off my system.

Does anyone know if this is a known issue? And if there is no resolution, how do I go about getting my money back? (I hope I don't have to do that latter)

I'm sorry to hear the issues you've experienced. If you could write into our inbox as TH suggested and then PM me your email address, I'll be able to take a look and hopefully resolve the issues.

    Thank you!
