I've a question about Prevx 3.0, when i was a beta tester for Avira that name meant "Malware Killer" everyone knew it was a very powerful application, used to be called Prevx Edge, anyways i regress. Will support for Prevx 3.0 be continuing into the future or is it set to be put on the shelf? Tia.. Hogndog
At some point all Prevx users will be moved over to Webroot SecureAnywhere and I assume that Prevx will cease to exist as it cost allot of money to keep the database going! IMO TH
I've always been a big fan of Web Root, i remember purchasing the Spy Sweeper then telling others how well it did at dispatching Malware, don't know if Joe was there in 2006, somebody helped me clean my machine when a severe infection got its meat hooks into it.. Maybe one day I'll take the new project for a spin.. Thanks.. Hogndog
Joe was with Prevx since 2006 and now Webroot! http://www.webroot.com/En_US/pr/momentum/corp/technology-acquisition-cloud-security-110110.html TH
That was a well thought out acquisition, I'm just surprised somebody else didn't see the strength in Prevx before now..
It can continue to be one of your favorites, in Webroot SecureAnywhere The entire team from Prevx works at Webroot and SecureAnywhere is a dramatically improved version of the Prevx technology.
.....Prevx 3.0 is still on sale, I know because I purchased a copy yesterday ? By the time you get round to switching all Prevx users over to Webroot SecureAnywhere their original Prevx 3.0 licences will have run out anyway, that is unless you continue to sell it ? If you continue to sell it you're never going to arrive at what I assume was your aim in the first place that rather than switching the good folk over from Prevx you'd just sit and wait for them or their licences to expire ? But the fly in the ointment would be If you carried on selling Prevx, which you are, so it ain't going to go anywhere ? You seem incapable of doing the long promised switch over, so I believe Prevx 3.0 at the best will just get a name change and will continue to be sold ?
P3 will be upgraded to WSA. The fact that we're still selling it and will continue to keep selling it until the migration is ready proves this. We have many users with 3+ years remaining on their licenses.
Pleased to hear that, before you go a quick bit of advice if you would, my Norton licences will soon be due for renewal and in view of their poor showing of late I intend to try Webroots antivirus but need to be able to disable the bit that replaced the SOL, perhaps you could tell me which bit I need to switch off ? Many thanks.
If you just download SecureAnywhere Antivirus, you won't have the Identity Shield (the new SafeOnline). Essentials and Complete are the only products that have it.
