PowerBroker Desktops Free Edition - selectively give programs administrator rights

    Mr Brian,

    Thanks for tipping us. On Windows7 my security is now as strong as it was on Vista (I am using PowerBroker to remove rights and run processes in Medium rights, so they will never ask for elevation, like old run as basic user on Vista).

    I still haven't tried it. I'll be downloading these stuff later on, and try it out when I can.

    But, I'd like to ask one thing. If you set an application as basic user, will an already elevated application be able to elevate an otherwise forbidden to elevate application?

    Not when you choose remove all rights before start

    Download v5.0 without filling out any forms (but uses the CNET downloader):
    32-bit
    64-bit

    This seems to be the freeware version, and not a trial as CNET claims.
