Possibly Hackers?

    I don't know if anyone else has had this happen to them? but here in Australia, I think its relatively new. What happens is, you receive a phone call from overseas (I know this as it comes up overseas on the caller ID) and some foreign person (sounded asian) asks if shes speaking to Mr.... and then proceeds to ask you if you have a computer,and are the main user of that computer, Then your told how they can help you rid your computer of junk files, if you follow her directions and download a certain file. (YEH RIGHT!) I bet a dime to a dozen if you follow those instructions your screwed!! Stolen ID's passwords...etc etc.. what the heck! are these bastards now doing phonebook call ups and getting some innocent to do as they ask? It needs to be Stopped, and Quick! :ninja: I cant actually repeat what I said to her, but I bet you can take a wild guess :cautious:

    These scams are rife because they are so easy to pull off

    ammyy for example.
