There's a whole lot of wiggle room when an announcement is made on this order such as "details are scarce". I yet to read one single released statement from the affected party after such a ransomware hit that expands whether or not they had security provisions in place and if so if they were AV only or/and a dedicated ransomware solution in place. Such info even if only in brief could share clues to the public if the affected system was properly maintained given the increased and exceptionally widespread public knowledge that this sort of potential threat is become.
