Popcorn.net

A friend has this on his PC and can't uninstall it. It keeps giving pop ups and demands money to stop getting the pop ups. He tried add/remove but it just brings up the dialling screen and doesn't remove it. The pop ups show his IP etc.
How can he get rid of this?

The guide looks okay, just make sure he doesn't go to the extent of installing all of the software like googlepack et cetera and instead tell him to install some other av if he doesn't have one. Also, I would not disable system restore until after the computer has been cleaned since a bad restore point is better then none at all .
