The only thing the user can do is be aware, all the "security" features in a smart phone are fake, designed to give an illusion of security while easily bypassed by data extraction tools like Cellebrite UFED which is currently compatible with thousands of cellphones and provides a hex dump of all the private data held on the phone unless it is protected by user encryption and even then, if the encryption uses built in crypto libraries, they are probably compromised too. Also everyone should be aware built in phone encryption is unlocked the first time you enter the unlock code after turning the phone on and is not locked again until the phone is turned off so for all practical purposes it is useless.
The same is true for Linux with LUKS. So you get in the habit of shutting down when you know that you won't be using it for a while. With SSDs, boot doesn't take very long.
