Police decrypt 258,000 messages after breaking pricey IronChat crypto app November 7, 2018 https://arstechnica.com/information...es-after-breaking-pricey-ironchat-crypto-app/
Thanks for letting people know. Now everyone knows NOT to use it. I still think Signal app by whisper system is the best option out there for secure messaging. Unfortunately I don't use it, because non of my friends or business partners use it. I am curious as to if the code was open source, and if it wasn't why would snowden endorse it? Furthermore if it was open source, was there a review of the code?
I would argue otherwise: Wait until the issue is fixed and you have probably a more secure chat app than any other. I mean, now they have the information about weaknesses and also a huge incentive. Do you get where I'm coming from?
I do understand where you're coming from, however, what people should know, is whether the app is open source, or not...
I wonder the reason why this police department went public with their accomplishment? After all, now anyone who finds out about it, probably won't use the app until its fixed, and they may not be able to break in again, weird.
