I'm new to the computer world and have been hyjacked. My homepage is opening to res://oceug.dll/index.html#37049 and I'm being innundated by pop ups that say only the best in the tagline. I've run adaware, spybot and my nortons antivirus to no avail. I'd about given up until a friend told me about you. Here is my log and now what do I do?

first reboot & let windows install all the updates it's trying to then post a new hijackthis log so we can see what is actually happening

go to Start->Run and type "Services.msc" (without quotes) then hit OK.
Scroll down and find the service called "Network Security Service".
When you find it, double-click on it. In the next window that opens, click the Stop button, then change the Startup Type to Disabled. Now hit Apply and then OK and close any open windows.

Before you start, please unzip or move hijackthis to a separate folder. The program will make backups in the folder in the folder it's in.
These easily get lost in a Temp folder or in the root of C: or get scattered all over the desktop and we need to empty the temp folders to remove the hijackers

Run hijackthis, tick these entries listed below and ONLY these entries, double check to make sure, then make sure all browser & email windows are closed and press fix checked

Reboot into safe mode by following instructions here: http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2001052409420406
then as some of the files or folders you need to delete may be hidden do this:
Open Windows Explorer & Go to Tools > Folder Options. Click on the View tab and make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is checked. Also uncheck "Hide protected operating system files" and untick "hide extensions for known file types" . Now click "Apply to all folders"
    Click "Apply" then "OK"

    Delete these files

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\oceug.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\mfcwv32.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\javajj32.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\crgb.exe

I'm not sure if these following files exist or not, but if they do delete them
    C:\WINDOWS\iprm32.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\sdkmh.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\iere32.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\atlep.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\iezs.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\netbt.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\apiez.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\iecl.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\appjp32.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\crem32.exe

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\ntfd.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\netaz.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\sdkhr32.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\crqi32.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\mslp.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\sdkvt32.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\iplo.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\ipkc.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\apidf32.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\sysjo.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\appxn.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\apiej.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\adduy32.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\javaem32.exe

    and Delete these folders
    C:\Program Files\SpyKiller

then go to C:\Documents and Settings\USER NAME\Local Settings\Temp and select everything in that folder and delete it

as XP will not let you delete files less than 24 hours old as it thinks it might need them please also do this
while in the temp folder, select view and select details.
then right click a blank part and select arrange icons by, and select show in groups and modified, that will give a list of all files in date order with today at the top of the page.
select all the files/folders except the today ones and delete them all.

and select EVERYTHING in C:\windows\temp except temporary internet files, cookies and history folders and delete all that as well

    1) Open Control Panel
    2) Click on Internet Options
    3) On the General Tab, in the middle of the screen, click on Delete Files
    4) You may also want to check the box "Delete all offline content"
    5) Click on OK and wait for the hourglass icon to stop after it deletes the temporary internet files
    6) You can now click on Delete Cookies and click OK to delete cookies that websites have placed on your hard drive

    then
    Reboot normally &

Download and unzip or install these programs/applications if you haven't already got them. If you have them, then make sure they are updated and configured as described

    Spybot - Search & Destroy from http://security.kolla.de
    AdAware 6 from http://www.lavasoft.de/support/download

    Run Sybot S&D

After installing, first press Online, press search for updates, then tick the updates it finds, then press download updates. Beside the download button is a little down pointed arrow, select one of the servers listed. If it doesn't work or you get an error message then try a different server

Next, close all Internet Explorer and OE windows, press 'Check for Problems', and have SpyBot remove all it finds that is marked in RED.

    then reboot &

    Run ADAWARE

Before you scan with AdAware, check for updates of the reference file by using the "webupdate".
the current ref file should read at least 01R323 20.06.2004 or a higher number/later date
    Then ........

Make sure the following settings are made and on -------"ON=GREEN"
From main window :Click "Start" then " Activate in-depth scan"

    then......

click "Use custom scanning options>Customize" and have these options on: "Scan within archives" ,"Scan active processes","Scan registry", "Deep scan registry" ,"Scan my IE Favorites for banned URL" and "Scan my host-files"

    then.........

go to settings(the gear on top of AdAware)>Tweak>Scanning engine and tick "Unload recognized processes during scanning" ...........then........"Cleaning engine" and "Let windows remove files in use at next reboot"

then...... click "proceed" to save your settings.

Now to scan it´s just to click the "Scan" button.

When scan is finished, mark everything for removal and get rid of it. (Right-click the window and choose"select all" from the drop down menu) then press next and then say yes to the prompt, do you want to remove all these entries.

    reboot again

then post a new hijackthis log to check what is left

    Hi Jeannie

We haven't found a full cure for your problem yet

Other people with the same problem on other forums have had the same experience.

Bear with us and as soon as we work out what is reinstalling this pain in the **** we will post a fix for you

the best at the moment I can suggest is try this and see what happens, it has helped some people but there is no guarantee that it will work,

Print out the instructions and read them carefully and have them beside you while fixing and follow each step EXACTLY if you are to have any chance of being successful.
The most important part seems to be using the firewall to block the reinfection once we have removed the bad files
download and update all the programs and files mentioned first
to see if we can prevent the cws hijackers reinfecting you try this:
install a good firewall, lists here http://www.wilders.org/firewalls.htm if you haven't already got one and block these

ranges of ports, both incoming and outgoing

    209.66.114.0 - 209.66.115.255
    81.211.105.0 - 81.211.105.255
    213.159.96.0 - 213.159.127.255
that stops the known cws servers responding or any hidden files on your computer updating. This works sometimes but not always as sopme hijacks come from a different IP number but it's a help.

The problem with this approach is that some good sites might also be blocked (not many as all the IP numbers are in Russia and very few Russian

sites have much relevance to most people and as far as I know all the IP numbers listed are known to be CWS sites)

boot into safe mode by following instructions here: http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2001052409420406
then as some of the files or folders you need to delete may be hidden do this:
Open Windows Explorer & Go to Tools > Folder Options. Click on the View tab and make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is checked. Also

uncheck "Hide protected operating system files" and untick "hide extensions for known file types" . Now click "Apply to all folders"
    Click "Apply" then "OK"

    NOW
Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete once => Click Task Manager => Click the Processes tab => Double-click the Image Name column header to alphabetically sort

the processes => Scroll through the list and look for crgb.exe and ipft.exe and winyz.exe

If you find the files, click on them, and then click End Process => Exit the Task Manager.
Next, go to Start->Run and type "Services.msc" (without quotes) then hit OK.
Scroll down and find the service called "Network Security Service".
When you find it, double-click on it. In the next window that opens, click the Stop button, then change the Startup Type to Disabled. Now hit Apply and

then OK and close any open windows.
    NOW
Run hijackthis, tick these entries listed below and ONLY these entries, double check to make sure, then make sure all browser & email windows

are closed and press fix checked

go to settings(the gear on top of AdAware)>Tweak>Scanning engine and tick "Unload recognized processes during scanning"

...........then........"Cleaning engine" and "Let windows remove files in use at next reboot"

then...... click "proceed" to save your settings.

Now to scan it´s just to click the "Scan" button.

When scan is finished, mark everything for removal and get rid of it. (Right-click the window and choose"select all" from the drop down menu) then

press next and then say yes to the prompt, do you want to remove all these entries.

    reboot again

then post a new hijackthis log to check what is left
