PLEASE HELP..HERE'S MY HIJACK THIS LOG

This thing has been driving me crazy. I'd greatly appreciate anyones help. So far this is what I've done...

First, Norton found a dialer.oneonone virus (it was actually 2 files that it couldn't delete, i followed their instructions on their support page but it was not accurate)

I cleared my system restore point. I ran Adaware (deep scan), Spybot Blaster, and HiJack this (i've posted my log below)

Adaware has found cws hijacker logs. My homepage kept resetting to "about:search" -- Although since clearing my system it has recovered.

I've cleared my temp folders and cache. I deleted 1on1.exe, sysdaemg.exe, uk3.exe, and sysinfo.exe files from my regedit.

The darn thing must be hiding somewhere. Also, my pf usage in task manager has been very high (over 1g at times and i only have 512 mb RAM). Whenever I run Spybot is reports HKey registry changes and it finds:

    MediaPlex
    Advertising.com
    Avenue A, Inc
    Double Click
    DSO Exploit

    Here is my HiJackThis Log:

    Hi jwpb00,

Download and install APM from: http://www.diamondcs.com.au/index.php?page=apm

Check the items listed below in HijackThis, close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = file://C:\DOCUME~1\JAMESB~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\sp.html
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = file://C:\DOCUME~1\JAMESB~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\sp.html
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = file://C:\DOCUME~1\JAMESB~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\sp.html
    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = file://C:\DOCUME~1\JAMESB~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\sp.html
    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = file://C:\DOCUME~1\JAMESB~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\sp.html
    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = http://us8l.hpwis.com
    R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = file://C:\DOCUME~1\JAMESB~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\sp.html
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,HomeOldSP = about:blank

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {97F46E57-A628-44F2-937E-E87F2E0658B7} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\gdgl.dll

Then start APM. In the upper window select explorer.exe
In the lower window find and rightclick the BHO from the HijackThis log
    (C:\WINDOWS\System32\gdgl.dll)
Select Unload DLL and click OK on the prompts that follow.

Reboot and scan with AdAware to remove the txt and html protocol association.

    Regards,

    Pieter

    NEED MORE HELP...

    Pieter,

I fixed the files in HijackThis which you indicated. Then, I opened APM.

There were 2 c:\windows\explorer.exe files in the upper window and niether of them contained c:\windows\system32\gdgl.dll files in the lower window. I checked all the files in the upper window and none of them had this gdgl.dll file.

So, I skipped this step and ran adaware. I removed about 12 entries. I have a feeling I'm still infected. My pf usage is almost 500mb right now and I hardly have any programs running. Usually, it's about 150 mb. Is this a common symptom of these infections?

I ran Norton again (it didn't pick up anything) and I ran spybot. Spyboth finds DSO in which around 5 files showing registry changes. What do you think is wrong?
Here is my new Hijackthis log. Thanks for your continued help.

    Back to "about:blank"

    Pieter,

Looks like this thing has reinstalled itself completely since my last post. One thing I'm noticing is that there are 2 processes running in task manager that are using very large amounts of memory. One is called "hphmon05.exe" and the other is "explorer.exe". Don't know if this helps diagnose the problem or not.

Here is my latest hijackthis log:

Nothing to see in that log anymore.

    Just some checking:

Copy the contents of the bold text to Notepad.
    Name the file Appinit.bat
    Save as type *All Files*
    Save on the Desktop.

    Reg save "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows" windows1.hiv
    ren windows1.hiv windows.txt

    Double click on Appinit.bat
This will create a file on the desktop named windows.txt
    Post the content please.

    Regards,

    Pieter

    RESULTS OF WINDOWS.TXT...

    Pieter,

I did what you asked. Not sure if this makes any sense, but the results of the windows.txt file are:

    Re: Back to "about:blank"

Yes it does make sense. So there is a variant with a hidden dll as well. :doubt:

Check the items listed below in HijackThis, close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = file://C:\DOCUME~1\JAMESB~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\sp.html
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = file://C:\DOCUME~1\JAMESB~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\sp.html
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = file://C:\DOCUME~1\JAMESB~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\sp.html
    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = file://C:\DOCUME~1\JAMESB~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\sp.html
    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = file://C:\DOCUME~1\JAMESB~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\sp.html
    R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = file://C:\DOCUME~1\JAMESB~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\sp.html
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,HomeOldSP = about:blank

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {6190885A-3C49-4BE5-8944-CED462726F84} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\ncecbaa.dll

    Now open a command prompt.
    Open Taskmanager and endtask explorer.exe
In the command prompt type the following commands, each line followed by ENTER
    cd ..
    cd ..

Prompt should now be at C:>
    cd windows
    cd system32
    del sqll.dll
    del ncecbaa.dll
    cd ..

Prompt should now be at C:\Windows
    explorer.exe

Your Taskbar and desktop should now return.
If at any point you get lost with explorer not working, you can also start it by using Ctrl-Alt-Del to bring up TaskManager, choose New process and navigate to C:\Windows\explorer.exe

    HTH,

    STILL HAVING TROUBLE...

    Pieter,

I followed your instructions and fixed the hijackthis logs, but I couldn't get past the point of typing "del sqll.dll" and hitting enter. It says the file could not be found :( I really don't want to give up on this...do you have any more advice? Will I have to wipe out my system and reinstall everything?

Let me know what my next step should be. Thanks for all your help.

Good job. Your bad file is positively identified on all counts!

Follow the next set of steps carefully:

    -Open the Beta-Fix\Keys1 Subfolder!
    -Right-Click on the "MOVEit.bat" file, select->edit:
That will open the file as empty text file.
-Copy and paste the entire hilited line in the quote box
(all one line) into that blank file:

    -Save the file and close.

--Get ready to restart your computer:
-In the same folder, DoubleClick on the "FIX.bat" file.
You will be prompted by popup -Alert with 15 seconds
    to restart.
    -Allow it to restart!

    -On restart, Navigate to:
    C:\Beta-Fix\ main folder:
    -DoubleClick on the "RESTORE.bat" file.

It'll run and produce new log. (log1.txt) post it here!

    Regards,

    Pieter

    Pieter,

Beta-fix is now called FindnFix. I followed your instructions but when I right click on MOVEit.bat and select "edit", it says that "windows cannot find c:\FINDnFIX\keys1\MOVEit.bat".

    What should I do?

    AN UPDATE

    Pieter,

Even though I couldn't complete the instructions from your previous post, my system seems to be better after running findnfix. Not sure if that makes any sense. My pf usage is back down to where it used to be, and my computer is not running slow. However, I'm skeptical that it is completely clean at this point. I have run spybot again and adaware to clean things out again. So far, things seem ok. But, when i tried to open cws shredder it said that a variant of a coolweb search trojan called "cws.smarsearch.2" was trying to gain access to the program, so it started in an alternate way. Not sure if this helps identify and fix the problem. Let me know.

    Pieter,

Just wondering if you had any more suggestions. My computer seems to have recovered. Nothing has reinstalled itself thus far, but I am still picking up things when i run spybot. Any way of determining if I'm still infected with the variant that has a hidden dll? thanks

    Here is a quick test:
Copy the contents of the bold text to Notepad.
    Name the file Appinit.bat
    Save as type *All Files*
    Save on the Desktop.

    Reg save "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows" windows1.hiv
    ren windows1.hiv windows.txt

    Double click on Appinit.bat
This will create a file on the desktop named windows.txt
    Post the content please.

    Regards,
