Hi. I have some sort of bug that I aquired about a week ago. I aquired it alongside Lycos SideSearch, but I was able to remove sidesearch. However, I cannot remove this yoogee.com thing. When I type a subject in my address bar it brings me to a search page of "yoogee.com" instead of msn.com, like it normally would. I ran CWShredder, and it found nothing. I've done a HouseCall Virus Scan and it found three infected files, all of which I have deleted. After a reboot, the yoogee problem persists. I have now turned to this forum. Here is my HijackThis Log. PLEASE HELP! WHAT DO I DO TO GET RID OF THIS?!?!? Thanks in advance, Marissa.

The entry in blue color is optional to remove. These are either typically infrequently used tasks that can be started manually if necessary or a resource hog which isn't necessary for the operation of your system.

Reboot your machine and boot into safe mode by tapping F8 key(8-9 times) at bootup.

This may happen that file is hidden so first unhide the files using following instructions...
    http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPOR...Virus Corporate Edition&ver=8.x&osv=&osv_lvl=

Search and If present, delete all the following file(s) and folder(s) :

    C:\WINDOWS\twaintec.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\systb.dll
    C:\Program Files\E2G\ <--- Entire Folder
    C:\WINDOWS\2_0_1browserhelper2.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\bridge.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\nem216.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\5_0_1browserhelper5.dll
    C:\Program Files\WildTangent\ <--- Entire Folder
    C:\WINDOWS\wt\ <--- Entire Folder
    C:\WINDOWS\alchem.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\bridge.dll
    c:\program files\internet optimizer\ <--- Entire Folder
    C:\WINDOWS\jativsz.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\lexkz.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\wupdt.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\81xcoini.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\ISUNINST.EXE

Also in safe mode navigate to the C:\Temp folder. Open the Temp folder and go to Edit > Select All then Edit > Delete to delete the entire contents of the Temp folder.

Now, Empty the Recycle Bin and Turn off System Restore:

On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
    Click Properties.
    Click the System Restore tab.
    Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.
    Restart your computer.

Go to house call again and do an online virus scan:

    http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

Be sure and put a check in the box by Auto Clean before you do the scan. If it finds anything that it cannot clean have it delete it or make a note of the file location so you can delete it yourself.

Reboot your machine turn system restore back on and create a restore point.

Now, Please Download the latest version of Ad-Aware at http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/

After installing AAW, and before running the program, you NEED to FIRST update the reference file following these instructions.

    Now do the following:

    - Under Ad-aware 6 > Settings (Gear at the top) > Tweak > Scanning Engine:
check: "Unload recognized processes during scanning."

    - Under Ad-aware 6 > Settings (Gear at the top) > Tweak > Cleaning Engine:
Check: Let Windows remove files in use after reboot.

    Press Scan Now

    - Check option "Use Custom scanning options"
    - Check option "Activate In-Depth Scan"
    - Press "Select drives\folders to scan"
    - Select the active partition which is usually C:

Now press Next to let Ad-aware scan your drives... It will find a number of bad files and registry keys. Right-click in that pane and choose select all Now press Next again. It will ask you whether you'd like to remove all checked items. Click OK.

Finally, close Ad-Aware, and reboot. That ought to get rid of remaining spyware.

When you've done all that, restart your computer, re-run Hijack This, and show us a fresh log.

    With Thanks !
    Newkid !

Hi! Thanks for the advice. The yoogee problem was fixed after the first step w/HijackThis. Then I deleted those files and I was still fine. However, after letting Ad-Aware go through my comp and delete the registries and whatnot, I have yet another problem. Now, when I type a word in my address bar it doesn't do the MSN.com search anymore. Instead, I get a "Page cannot be displayed". HELP! Here's my new HijackThis log:

    Hello Marisaa !

This new log looks better then previous log. Good Job ! :)

I suspect you've a nasty malware that changes the name everytime you reboot. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL key atonce and click on TaskManager and then Endtask this process: bdusk.exe

    Then delete the file: C:\WINDOWS\System32\bdusk.exe

    Then have HijackThis Fix:

R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [bdusk] C:\WINDOWS\System32\bdusk.exe

    Reboot your machine.

Now, download this IEFIX.reg, a .reg file to your Desktop. Double-click on it and answer Yes, to merge into your registry. It will restore all the default Search settings for IE.

When you've done all that, re-run Hijack This, and show us a fresh log.

    With Thanks !
    Newkid !

    Newkid -

bdusk.exe was not in the processes list when I opened the task manager, nor was it found on my computer. I did, however, have HijackThis fix the two entries you listed. After rebooting, it was fixed once again! Thanks. I did not install that other registry you recommended because I did not feel there was a need for it as the search page had been restored. If I continue to have problems, I will then download that registry. Thanks again for all your help. Here is my new HijackThis log:
