    Hi all

The reason I got to this stage is because on start up (Windows XP) I had C:\WINDOWS\System32\bridge.dll error, so did a check on web and found this wonderful forum . Please could you check my log and advise me on what to do next. I have already done adaware checks.

    Many thanks!

    Hi Toby,

Have only HijackThis running and fix :

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {83DE62E0-5805-11D8-9B25-00E04C60FAF2} - C:\WINDOWS\2_0_1browserhelper2.dll (file missing)
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {9C691A33-7DDA-4C2F-BE4C-C176083F35CF} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\bridge.dll (file missing)

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [RunDLL] rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\System32\bridge.dll",Load

    O16 - DPF: {11111111-1111-1111-1111-111111111147} - file://C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\1189.exe

restart PC after doing so and remove :

    C:\WINDOWS\System32\bridge.dll <- this file

Thanks for the rapid response Unzy. Did as instructed but on restart could not find C:\WINDOWS\System32\bridge.dll file. Sorry if I'm missing something obvious.

    Cheers

Yep, you should be fine :)

Just check with a new HijackThis scan if this entry is gone :

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [RunDLL] rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\System32\bridge.dll",Load

    Cheers,
