Hello, I tried to name this thread the best I could to describe my issue. Basically, I've noticed this for about 2-3 days now...(see screenshot). Where there should be pictures, there is nothing. I've never seen this before and would just like to know how I could fix that.

    Thanks,

    Gracie

I'm not sure Gracie but it may be a corrupt ico association. Disregard the "however, the user account pictures are intact" note and try the fixes suggested at the following link - http://windowsxp.mvps.org/redxaccounts.htm Do you have more than one user account? Are you using a password? Home or Pro?

Edit: It's possible your account may have been disabled by some spyware related activity. If you load control userpasswords2 into a runbox do you find your user account also marked with a red x? Maybe in addition you double-check using a few online scanner's and see if they turn up anything other than what your current setup report's.

    Thanks GlobalForce :thumb:

As I don't use User Accounts I never really noticed it before but I also had the same symptoms,
the second remedy in your link cured the problem.

Happy to find out it was a simple matter Gracie, terrific.
Indirect or not Tex, it's good to hear that fix also worked for a fellow support contributor.
