    Hi everyone,

can someone tell the easiest way to get Phantoms Ruleset into LNS once I install it? It's a zip file by Winzip. Do I need Winzip in order to extract?

    Thanks everyone! :D

I had a copy of his rules, but didn't know if I needed Winzip to open file. I'm not familiar with that program. Thanks for the link to 7zip. I did d/l it.

Do I extract this folder inside LNS folder?

    Thanks

Jep, just extract the rules inside the LnS folder. Then change the ruleset used in the internet filtering window! :)

Awesome SSK! Thanks a lot! No buggies with these rules?

I have always used a suite for AV & FW etc, this will be the first time for stand a lone apps. It was indeed, a tough decision! Going to all the forums to get the scoop on each AV & FW. I read an article on LNS @gkweb and it said LNS had the best outgoing packet filtering, thats why I decided to take a look at LNS.

Keep in mind, that Phant0m's rules are a lot more restrictive then the default rulesets. So, it could be that some programs don't work because they are blocked. :)
Keep that in mind when things don't work on first run!

You know what, if Harden-It and Samurai work on my system, I probably wouldn't need the heavier rulesets. I will have to look into that.

I don’t think you in reference to initiating connections from remote machines, in both rule-sets you still have to create/import rules for additional services, something which I wouldn’t have any other way. ;)

    Hi Phantom,

Can you explain what you mean by additional services? I guess I'm going to have to go to soft4ever.com/forum to see about making rules. Regardless of what ruleset I use, I will have to create rules.

What are the known common blocks with these rules?

    Thanks:D
