pgp questions

Hi,
Any one can provide info about using the pgp 6.5?
here are my questions:
1. When i generated a pair key , it asked me to save and i didnt but i saw in the keyrings file the following;secring;secring bak1; secring bak 3; secring bak 4 and secring bak 5;pubring; pubring bak 1; pubring bak 3; pubring bak 4 and pubring bak 5 where all those bak came from ?
2. When using free space wipe it is recomended to turn off file sharing, what does that mean and how to do it ?
3.Does free space wiping affects or harm any data or anything in windows 2000?
