Would someone please see if they experience the following anomoly on a Windows XP-SP1 Home system.

    1. Deactivate ProcGuard protection with the HID
    2. Close Process Guard with the HID
    3. Reboot computer.

On my system when the shutdown process begins, Windows Explorer does not automatically shut down. I get the Waiting and End Now window alert box. Clicking End Now will continue the shutdown and reboot.

This does not occur on a reboot/shutdown with PG active.

    Hi siliconman01 :).

I have done this many times and have not experienced it. After #2 (close PG with the HID), you could try ending the PG_MSGProt.exe via task manager and then try rebooting.......does this help?

    Regards,
    Jade.

    Hey thanks Bowserman, :)

I'll keep doing some testing on my system to isolate what else might be impacting this.

siliconman01, any more occurrences of this? We haven't had any other reports of this so it seems to be isolated to your machine - possibly a one-off that might not've been related to Process Guard? :)

No more occurrences that appear to be PG related.

I believe it is/was caused by MS Outlook 2003 if I turn off my cable modem when I begin a shutdown and Outlook starts a send/receive on shutdown. I have Outlook set to send/receive on program closure or computer shutdown. Even if I quickly restart my cable modem and allow Outlook to complete the transfer or cancel the Outlook transfer, Explorer will not automatically close.
