After upgrade to Smart Security v.4.2.58.3 ...

In setup mode (F5), Personel Firewall, Rules and Zones, Trusted Zone, clicking Setup gives:

Above is on my desktop PC and W2003 server. At this point they diverge.

    OK on desktop gives:
"Subnet Selection" and then "Change the protection mode of your computer in the network" displays. (The subnets displayed were created by VMware Player.)

OK on the server (which does not have any virtual machines) gives:
What is going on? Is my server really "not connected to any network that could be considered trusted" ? :gack:

I'm having the exact same problem... My main computer is Windows 7 64bits and ESET shows this problem. My second computer which is connected to the same subnet, uses same ESET version but 32 bits in Windows XP doesn't show this message.

    How do I fix it?

In order to troubleshoot this type of issues, I'll need you to provide the following stuff:
    ipconfig.log created after running "ipconfig /all > ipconfig.log"
    "%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\ESET\ESET Smart Security\EpfwUser.dat"
    "%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\ESET\ESET Smart Security\epfwdata.bin"

When you have these files packed in an archive, upload them somewhere and PM me the link.

The reason for displaying the message is that, according to your settings, trusted zone is authenticated providing that:
1, the DHCP server's IP address is 5.0.0.1
2, the DNS server's IP address is 208.67.220.220 or 208.67.222.222 and the DHCP server's IP address is 10.19.96.0

Besides the authenticated zones, you also have several subnets defined in the static TZ among which is 192.168.0.0/255.255.255.0 as well. Try deleting the automatically generated authenticated zones "DhcpIp:5.0.0.1" and "DnsIp:208.67.220.220;208.67.222.222_DhcpIp:10.19.96.0" in the Zone setup.

Followed your instructions and then rebooted just in case. The same error appears, no change.

bump... I have also seen several port scans from one of my computers in my home computer in my firewall log , like this :

8/31/2010 1:47:44 PM Detected Port Scanning attack 192.168.0.196:1726 192.168.0.199:2191 TCP

192.168.0.199 is my main computer where I have ESET Smart Security installed and 192.168.0.196 my other computer connected to the network. I'm not sure is this have anything to do with my problem, but I just thought I'd point it out.

Please let me know if this is something that will be fixed in a next update or if there is anything I need to do to fix it.

    Regards,
