    Hello,
i have tryed perfectdisk before but i want to ask a quick question.
my sister's laptop is a year old now.
she hasnt defragged it once yet.
i was thinking of installing perfectdisk doing a full defrag and then uninstalling it.
    does perfectdisk uninstall cleanly?
like it was never installed except for the proformance boost of course?
of course im gonna clean up temporyfiles and stuff before i install kis7.0 on it and other stuff to speed it up.

I havent uninstalled PerfectDisk so I dont if it leaves stuff behind, but you can use an uninstaller (like Total Uninstall). They work well.

and why do you want to uninstall it afterwards?

    Hello WSFuser,
because its only a 30day trial and its just to make the laptop run faster by doing a full defrag.
installing perfectdisk doing a defrag is alot faster and better than running the windows bulti in defrag and does alot better job.
im not intending buying a license for my sisters laptop.
im just trying to make it perform the best i can by defragging, cleaning out tempory files etc.
its a budget laptop so making it work the best it can is critical.
1 year of fragmentation must be slowing it down quite alot.
unless someone can reccomend a reliable free defrag program to replace the windows bulti in defrag i will think about installing that instead.

    Hi Lodore,

Before you install it on your sisters computer, make a restore point, then install PD, then use add/remove then use the restore point.

    Take Care

Some free defraggers include Diskeeper Lite, Contig + Power Defragmenter, and O&O Defrag 2000.

AusLogics offers a decent de-fragger and they also offer a free registry de-fragger that works during re-boot and creates a system restore-point. Small apps that don't auto-anything so you could leave them for next year!

I use Auslogics on one daughters box and JK DeFrag w/ gui on the others. They are excellent free apps.

That would violate the Perfect Disk license.

Too bad she doesn't have FDISR on her computer. You could make a snapshot and install PD, then when your done you could just update the snapshot from the primary snapshot and it would be like PD never happened.:D
