PDF-XChange Viewer has the search feature far better than Foxit; the viewer quality is better also.

And the tabbed browsing is useful.

But unless something changed since I looked for it (or maybe I didn't searched so well), it can't display pdf's on the browser, it opens a PDF X-Change window when clicking on a pdf link.
Still the best pdf reader I have tried.

Hi, I use foxit and the PDF download extension. The extension does have the option to open in a new tab, same tab or new window.

It depends on what you want from your .PDF reader. Adobe Reader offers possibilities none of the others have (at the cost of significant bloat, true), but I find that these are seldom in need for a regular user.
With Foxit, I do not have much experience, only having used it a couple of times, so I really can not comment. I have heard that it sometimes has problems with certain .pdf documents, though.
PDF X-Change is a pretty decent software, and the tabbed browsing and annotation possibility are important factors. I think you should try it.

    PDF-XChange Viewer

In the latest version 1.0.0031 it was added FireFox Browser plugin for opening PDFs within the browser. To IE it had the plugin yet.
