    sounds good to me.
doesn't flash memory produce less heat?
    and use less power?
plus last longer since it has no moving parts?

Wonder how these will compare in performance to the Raptors, standard technology with a "faster" spin. Or if the two can\will be combined soon?

    Hybrid drive
I´m not holding my breath :doubt:
    Bigger benefits:
    -Longer battery life in laptops.
    -Less tear in HDDs.
-The possibility of a quiet system.

Thank you lucas1985. Have seen several write ups on these today. Was just thinking\wishing out loud. :D I need to do a bit more reading to check available interfaces. I see one in my Thinkpads future.
Was planning on a Raptor for my tower, may have to put that on hold and see how these turn out once they hit the market.

Can't stand it. Personally I don't see these disks making that big a difference as far as machines being screamers. They probably will be more reliable, and for sure quieter.

I bought two new high end machines this year, and they are really screamers right now. Even if the flash drives could double the disk speed, the overall speed of these machines for sure wouldn't double.

Without counting special purpose or military-grade drives, there are 32 GB SSD (Solid-State Drive) and, I guess, 64 GB SSD.
