Hi, I do know where to start for some reason my pc will shut maybe 1 out of 3 times correctly. The other times it gets to the point where it says windows is ending and it just hangs. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do to solve this. My system specs are Dell xps 600, mce 2005, 149gb raid

    Thanks,

    Ptah

Try this program if using XP. It is removable from the control panel if it does you no good.

Thanks ronjor, before I install the program I took a look at the event viewer and traced the error to:

    Details
    Product: Windows Operating System
    Event ID: 1001
    Source: Application Error
    Version: 5.2
    Symbolic Name: DW_BUCKET_LOG
    Message: Fault bucket %1.

    1:

An access violation error occurs if your Terminal Services information is corrupted

    or

    2:
Client, service, and program incompatibilities that may occur when you modify security settings and user rights assignments.

How do I figure out which one has the problem.

I would do a Google for those error messages and see how they apply to your system. I would start with DW_BUCKET_LOG

The UPH program won't hurt your computer and can be removed.

You might also want to add what programs you run, security and otherwise. The more information, the better.

I would install the UPH app and try it for awhile. Other than that, you might want to use a program like CCleaner to clean up all your temporary and leftover files from other program installs.
