My heart stopped beating for a while and I thought pctools is coming back. I loved it a lot. Everything form.pctools was very very good. Too bad they killed it

Arent those windows firewall based firewalls just easy to terminate by a malware?
Something like taskkill, then do reg add to add your custom firewall rules, then force reboot.
Funny enough, malwarebytes adwcleaner does that, it will kill ALL processes that is does not have some kind of selfprotections.

    Hello,
I don't know for sure but I doubt that firewalls have some sort of selfprotection to prevent their process to be killed by malware. Just for added security I've installed this free and portable utility "Restart on Crash" https://w-shadow.com/blog/2009/03/04/restart-on-crash/ and I've added to its settings the filepath of Windows 11 Firewall Control executables (C:\Program Files\Windows11FirewallControl\Windows11FirewallControl.exe and C:\Program Files\Windows11FirewallControl\Windows11FirewallService.exe) so if they are terminated for whatever reason, Restart on Crash will restart them. I know it isn't a optimal solution and maybe it doesn't work against malware but it's better than nothing, unless RestartOnCrash.exe isn't running or it's terminated too :(
Anyway I'm sorry but I don't understand why a adware remover like Malwarebytes AdwCleaner should terminate all processes that don't have selfprotection. I used it some time ago and luckily it didn't that :)
