when shut down my pc I get an apdefend message which I need to check as ok always - but of course the pc shuts down too quickly. Is this a known problem
and does anyone know how I could manually make the change to allow this ?

Yeah i get the same problem, i'm thinking its a bug which will hopefully be fixed in the next version. A more knowledgable member may know more about it.

It is usually an issue with smss.exe which need to be allowed to terminate processes, see this thread https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=110412

For some OS there are also rules for winlogon.exe and/or userinit.exe necessary.
Just read the thread cited above and try out the suggestions given there. Good luck :)
