    Hi,

I have been running Ad-aware and S&D, plus Spyware Blaster for the last month. I love Spyware Blaster and how it stops the sites from loading. However, there has been one nagging site (paypopup/superlogy) that continues to load, even though the page with their graphics doesn't. The URL is: http://www4.paypopup.com/loading.ph...1072859616&ref=http://www.superlogy.com/p.asp

My Hijack log is as follows:

Can anyone please tell me how to eliminate this? I am also experiencing a slowdown of my IE, but am not sure if this is connected to it or not.

    Thank you,
    Tina Dante

    Hi tdante,

Before you start, please unzip hijackthis to a separate folder. The program will make backups in the folder in the folder it's in.
These easily get lost in a Temp folder.

Check the items listed below in HijackThis, close all windows except HijackThis and click Fix checked:

R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
    O1 - Hosts: 12.129.205.209 search.netscape.com12.129.205.209 sitefinder.verisign.com

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [UpdReg] C:\WINDOWS\UpdReg.EXE

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [kdx] C:\WINDOWS\kdx\KHost.exe

O9 - Extra button: WeatherBug (HKCU)
    O16 - DPF: {2B96D5CC-C5B5-49A5-A69D-CC0A30F9028C} (MiniBugTransporterX Class) - http://download.weatherbug.com/minibug/tricklers/AWS/MiniBugTransporter.cab?

Then reboot. It should diminish the slowdown, but I am not sure about the paypopup thing.

    Let us know,

    Pieter

    Hi Pieter,

Thank you. This helped. I am still having problems, however, with what appears to be a hijacked search engine issue. For example, if I do a normal search on Google, it takes me to a intermediate page that seems to have links to other search engine-like addresses or some type of toolbars. Any advice?

    Thanks,
    Tina

    Hi tdante,

He, that would have been too easy. :D

    Please download:
    http://tools.zerosrealm.com/dllfix.exe

Doubleclick it and install in folder of choice on the root drive, in your case C:\

Run start.bat and press option 1. 'output.txt' will be created in the folder

    Post the content please.

    Regards,

    Pieter
