Partition Table question!

    It won't hurt anything, my partitons are all out of order too...
    Maybe someone can tell us 'why', it does that though?

    Typically the top window shows the partitions in Alphabetic order, based on their labels, while the lower half shows them as they are currently allocated. This is how it is for me in Vista. From the image it appears your second partition is the bootable (active) one. Since both C and D are the same size, I recommend you change the label on one and check again.

    If you click "Volume" towards the top of Disk Management, the order in that list will be D: C:

    The rectangle graphics show the physical order of the partitions on the HD. This has nothing to do with the order in the Partition Table.
