Please excuse the title , it was a suggestion from a disgruntled ( one who hasn't read the manual) paragon user (Not a current member at wilders!!!) I use dd10 and am ok with it, no need to spend 80 bucks on another app.

Is The higher price paragon disk manager able to outdo DD10? Is it able to copy an entire partition correctly? Can it copy a os onto a different partition like DD10 does? We use dd10 to copy a os all the time and it works well with the school recommended IBM boxes here at circle , but we must often use the repair console to get it on the loader( depending on the box).

Does paragon partition manager do this with out the added trouble of using the repair console? Many other users also use dell which is also on the list of recommended boxes (HP is also on the OK list) ?

If there is any one with real world experience on this matter it will help out as dd10 does not work on all boxes. Many students use e machines as they are cheap but often do not play well with dd10.

    Please help with some info!!!

    Hello CircleGirl,

Hard Disk Manager includes 5 of our main software products in one convenient suite: Partition Manager, Drive Backup, Drive Copy, Disk Wiper and Total Defrag.

    Complete product information here:
    http://www.paragon-software.com/home/hdm-personal/features.html

Regarding partition copying (cloning), Hard Disk Manager 2009 can do disk to disk or partition to partition copying and include boot corrector tools to ensure your system boots right up.

Can you elaborate on the repair console and loader? Is updating the MBR what you were doing or added the additional OS to the boot.ini or BCD? Essentially, are you performing backups of the system, deploying a master image to multiple computers, restoring or multi-booting? Definitely any of the operations mentioned above and more can be achieved with Hard Disk Manager 2009.

Finally, Hard Disk Manager is compatible with most( if not all) computer manufacturers running Windows operating system.

Thanks for the intro and link. It's only $49, not $79--very alluring!! :)

I multiboot often using the copy partition function of dd10. Once in a while the copied partition will not be in the XP loader and boot.ini file so using the repair console's bootcfg /rebuild will add it to the loader and thus to the boot.ini file.
