I have just installed Paragon Backup 10.1 free. It does not recognise my 2nd hard disk. The help file suggests that it is because it is of type dynamic. Can I convert or reformat it to Basic type or do I need to upgrade the backup software? Help!

If it is a simple dynamic disk , there are apps. which will convert it without data loss.

Dynamic disks are not recommended nowadays - even by MS, precisely because they complicate the backup process.

Paragon PM10 Pro will do it.

Thank you SIW2. I used XP Disk Manager to delete the dynamic volumes, then right clicked Disk 2 and took the option to create a basic volume. I copied back the contents. Now Paragon-free manages it just fine. Gratias!
