Just curious if there are any Panda 2009 users out there and what there experience has been. I have been running Panda AV Pro 2009 on my second computer, my refurbished Dell desktop for a couple months now and so far so good. Memory use has been much better. I just wish they would open up to more testing to see if it's all as good as they claim. It has kept my box shiny and clean so far...

I have a license for Panda IS 2009 but I just didn't care for it. Nothing in particular I don't like about it. it is just the overall app. It might be great but it just isn't for me.

I remember back then, Panda was at the top with their TruPrevent technology.

Unfortunaly , in 2006 they completely killed everything good . TruPrevent was great , Panda IS 2003/2004 was nice , too but ... memories ... :)

I have tried panda. And i agree with you who think the earlier versions was better. 2009 version of Panda IS os not so bad. Its a clean an nice interface. But i find it hard to configure.

The firewall takes controll of almost every program you have. I am for quiet firewalls, but thats almost as quiet as Norton IS 2009. QUIET!!!

But overall would i say its a 50/50 product. Not to good and not to bad

@GES/POR here is the link to the evaluation site http://www.pandasecurity.com/uk/homeusers/downloads/evaluation/

I'm using the Panda AV Pro 2009 right now and it seems fine. I kinda like the interface too. So far so good. I will run it for a while and see if any problems develop. But I don't see anything wrong with it on the surface. I have no idea how good (or bad) detection is though... guess I should check the av comparatives and see.....

Unfortunately they pulled out of AV Comparatives a couple years ago. More testing of this with favorable results would only bode good for them... :D

I came across the online scan of Panda Antivirus. The online scan found over a hundred viruses on my computer but would not clean it up unless I paid 12 dollars.

So I got the idea of downloading the trial version. But now I ran into yet another problem. It's not in English. It had every other language option except for English. I can't find an English version of the program.

Is there an English version of Panda Antivirus Pro 2009 trial anywhere?

You should be able to download a trial at their site http://www.pandasecurity.com/usa/homeusers/ and make sure to click NO to the marketing selection at the bottom of the page. If you leave it as "yes" they'll nag you into the afterlife... :thumb: :D

Online scan: they copy files into the Windows directory without prior explicit permission (or at least they used to) !

I've read about a supposedly existing removal tool/thing, but I don't know if it exists, I halted the 'scan' while it was copying files into the Windows directory.
