    Hi

    I am running Panda Cloud on two Windows 7 computers as a test for my userbase. Despite my not activating the USB & Computer "vaccination" (aka messing up the autoruns), it has broken the autorun on my U3 drive. I am not a happy Biscuit.

    I've adjusted the Windows Autoplay, it's still not working.

    Does anyone have any ideas please? Apart from never touching another Panda product?

    Update:

    I have uninstalled Panda from both computers, rebooted & autorun still does not work. The U3 drive however does still work as autorun operates correctly on a computer that was not infected by Panda.

    You sure the "Automically vaccinate USB drives" option was disabled?

    You could try system restore...

    Absolutely.

    I treat system restore as a last resort, I am hoping that Panda will help to fix my computers.

    You have (hidden) autorun.inf on your U3 drive created by Panda? Well, not that even system restore would "fix" it. Apart from low-level filesystem messing, the only way to undo it is a reformat of the USB drive.

    Thanks for your reply, I think you may have mis-read my post.

    panda broke the autorun on my desktop computer, not on the USB drive. The USB drive still works on my computers that are not infected with Panda.

    Fixed!

    I found that Panda make a free stand alone program that breaks USB drives & game CDs. They must use the same code on the Cloud software, but the cloud software seems very unstable to me. Note also the desperate time that the GUI takes to load from the system tray & the non-standard Windows dialog box.

    Within the Cloud software, I tried the vaccinate & de-vaccinate my drive to get it working again, but with no luck.

    I downloaded the free Panda Autorun Vaccine software from their site:
    http://research.pandasecurity.com/Panda-USB-and-AutoRun-Vaccine/
    On installation, it will indicate that the computer is "vaccinated" aka as "Broken by Panda". Clicking the button alongside will take off their rubbish & restore your games & USB drives to working order.

    "Broken by Panda" (c) 2011 Biscuit :mad:

    Code:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
    "NoDriveTypeAutoRun"=dword:00000000
    "NoAutorun"=dword:00000000
    "DontSetAutoplayCheckbox"=dword:00000000

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
    "NoDriveTypeAutoRun"=dword:00000000
    "NoAutorun"=dword:00000000
    "DontSetAutoplayCheckbox"=dword:00000000

    Save as REG, double-click, import, reboot.

    BTW

    Un-installing (& rebooting) Panda Cloud leaves files & directories at \program files, \program data & \user\appdata. These need to be cleaned manually to get rid of the rubbish software for good.

    Thanks cruelsister

    You gave me a laugh. I needed it after 3 hours of Panda-hell!

    I fixed my other computer too, popped Prevx back on it.

    To think I requested a partner info pack from Panda last night. Lets hope they call... I'd like to give them some of my thoughts & advice. grrrr

    This could also be a problem,
    I uninstalled Panda Clod because of this

    you need to delete the registry key "@SYS:DoesNotExist"

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\IniFileMapping\Autorun.inf
    @="@SYS:DoesNotExist"

    open regedit from run and browse to location then delete it, be sure to delete only "@SYS:DoesNotExist"

    BACK UP REGISTRY FIRST !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I reported the same issue here: https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showpost.php?p=1823886&postcount=49

    Let's hope they fix it in the next release.

    Install Panda USB Vaccine, unvaccinate your computer and uninstall. AFAICT from the above. (Or the manual registry fix.)

    unless panda has fixed this in version 1.4 or a newer
    using panda will not fix it, you must do
    the registry fix.
