Yeah, Panda Cloud AV On Demand scanning have always been quite slow
Anyways, their On Access is another story IMO.
I've never noticed a slowdown when i used PCAV (Both on desktop and a netbook)

 

Obviously due to its nature (scanning from the cloud) the on-demand scan of Panda Cloud Antivirus will be a bit slower than that of a traditional AV whose signatures are all stored in the PC. But that's a small drawback compared to the benefits of increased detection and less performance impact of the on-access scanner.

But also keep in mind that PCAV includes caching of already-scanned files and known goodware, so over time (or after the second full scan) its scan speed should increase. In order to correctly measure and compare it, you should run more than 4 or 5 scans and look at the average and mean times, similar to what some testing organizations do with performance tests.

Finally the typical user does not run on-demand scans of his or her PC every day, so this is really not that important unless you're manually scanning large collections of files for specific reasons.

 

PCA's full scan takes 75min on my machine. That's hardly the end of the world, and isn't that what MBAM is for anyway?

 

It's good t make on-demand scan just the first time to populate the cache and lower the burden of the scanner on the system.

 

Full scan with Panda Cloud Pro: 90 minutes
Full scan with AVG: 10 minutes
Full scan with Avast: 15 minutes


It would be great to turn off archive scanning to make Panda faster

is panda toolbar compatiblw with sandboxie?

 

For anyone who is interested, I posted a test using Panda Cloud 1.4 on my blog. It did very well.

 

Not sure about Sandboxie compatability, but Prevx/Safeonline free detects the Panda toolbar as potential malware/adware on both of my computers. At least it did on version 1.3. Needless to say, the toolbar is gone...

Anybody else experienced this?

 

Sorry if this has been asked, but it there a way to get PCAV to prompt prior to neutralization? I worry with the automatic cleaning of FPs.

Thing don't get automatically cleaned from what I've seen. You can recover them by going into the neutralized area from what I can tell.

 

How have you found 1.4 to be? Any good?

 

I have an unused PCAV Pro license from the giveaway last year.
Will it work with PCAV 1.4?

 

It should work with all versions. How many time you got left depends on when time starts running out on activation or already on date of the giveaway.

 

I love the Panda Cloud, I think it very light and efficient, perfect for my laptop. The update to version 1.4 was done automatically, and so far everything is very well and looks even lighter than before.

Only one thing I'm not enjoying it, is to get that banner on the community? I think there was no need to do something so monstrous, in any event there is any way I can turn it off and go back to the simple interface as before?

Panda Cloud Pro 1.4 is running very well, but that banner should not be there.
