Note by LowWaterMark - Actually, it's better if you don't paste in a full copy of a post that was made on another forum. A link to the original source is preferable.

In fact, the person who posted the original of this topic (no, I'm not talking about "The Mul", I mean the original poster from wherever The Mul got this copy of the post) also posted it at other forums, including here at Wilders about 10 hours prior to this thread being started.

Here is the reference to the original thread at the Spyware Warrior Forums.

So is anyone at Download.com doing anything about it? Everyone needs to contact them and get their program taken off as soon as possible

Well, this is a new low for a scam artist - and one apparently based in old Blighty. :(

For what it's worth, the domain privacytools2004.com does not appear to have complete information (the address lacks a street name or postcode) and the company does not show up on a search at Companies House (all limited companies in the UK have to be registered with them - see here for more details).

For this reason I have lodged a complaint with the domain registrar Dot-Registrar.com asking them to either provide full information or close the domain. If full information is given, UK residents can then make a complaint about this company to Trading Standards.

Had a fast response - incomplete domain registrations have to be reported to InterNIC (via http://wdprs.internic.net/). Let's see what happens next.
