   I don't know what is causing this, but Outlook crashes when I click on an email to preview it in the Reading Pane. When it does work, it is very slow. Any suggestions?

   Aside from Ron's advice, you get the same results running under it's clean profile switch?
   
   Try'n narrow it down. Should be reasonably similar to 07's page as far as troubleshooting.
