    Hello

I got a router recently so i decided to use windows firewall (XP) for saving resources instead of using a 3rd party fw.

The only thing is that win xp fw doesnt have outbound filtering, my question is, if that lack of outbound control over apllications can be a security issue?

    Thanks in advance.

I myself, wouldn't worry too much if you're behind a router. I'm behind one and feel very safe. The reality is that unless you allow a program to run, it can't leak anything. Use something with HIPS or a behavior blocker- I use Prevx, but there other options to suite your needs.
Not all programs play nicely together so keep that in mind when you start your decision making process. Do some research- there will be lots of great info if you do a search thru this forum.
