Backround: I've been multibooting with a different manager for 6 years or so and needed an upgrade. In July 08, I bought a new HP computer with a 700gig HD and 5 gig ram set up with vista 64 bit. I planned to split it into 3 or 4 partitions with an OS on each. One for general use, one for personal photo, financial and similar work and one for the grandkids and me to game on.
I looked for a partition manager that would run with V64 and finally found DDS in December. It seems to be the only one that claims to work with V64. As I started installing DDS I started running into problems with it, then my hard drive went out. After a month I got my pc back and started anew.

It only has Vista 64bit as on it.
I installed my Av suite (Trend Micro).
    I installed Acronis Disc Director.
I created 4 partitions. 1 - 11 gig for the original setup file (already there from factory)
2 - 199.3 gig to install XP on later.
1 - whatever is left with the original Vista on it.
    I installed the OSS.
On restart I get this message:
    Starting Acronis Loader......

Acronis Loader; No configuration file present.
    Press enter to reboot...

Pressing enter just brings up the same message.

What do I do? I've spent the last 3 nights reviewing this forum to no avail. I have tried emailing the support center but they don't respond in any timely manner.

    Thanks,
    Fritz84

You may need to either reactivate OSS or repair the MBR and boot sector and then reactivate OSS.

Also, you may need an updated build of DD to properly support your system. If your build is 2,160 or earlier, contact Acronis Support via Live Chat and see if they can give you the updated ISO. Make sure that the ISO they give you includes the OSS programs since you're having problems with OSS.

    Thanks Mudcrab.
I have downloaded DDS for the third time and finally got one that worked. That is, I can use the disc organizer and get into OSS. I cannot do anything with OSS, I expect I have to activate it.
How do I do that? I can't find anything in the program or in the users guide that helps or points me in the right direction.

After I get it running I already see some things that I may need help figuring out. This is not the easiest program to work with.
