OS Selector gone but still around!

I have just downloaded the latest build of DD, #554. Now, I no longer can boot my computer. I get a message that DD is running and that
"Acronis OS Selector cannot find the necessary configuration. Please reinstall Acronis OS Selector" (Error 3)
When I click ok, my system shuts down. The only way I can run at all is to re-load Windows98 and boot into SAFE mode at the point where the start-up files are bypassed. If I try to do a step-by-step boot, I can read that
"Acronis OS Selector automatically activated.

It doesn't do any good to uninstall DD, the problem remains.

Please boot from Windows Installation Disc into Recovery Console and run "fixmbr" command.

Thanks but should have said I'm running W98. However, I could make an OS SELECTOR Bootable Rescue disk and that fixed the problem. Flossie
